  1. what fitness programs can help me to be skinnier&have a good body shape?
i saw some fitness programs like low impact aerobics, step, pilates, tai chi, cardio kick boxing in the community centre and i dont know what are they. i know nothing about fitness.
i am 15 now, if i wanna be taller, skinnier, what kind of fitness exercise should i do??

  2. you should start with walking or jogging. you should jion a team at school or start a walking club at your high school

  3. Try them all and see which ones you like. Any fitness program will work for you as long as you do it consistently. In my opinion though, running is the best.

  4. well you are 15 with a lot of time to grow still. Staying in shape and living a healthier lifestyle is key. You may need permission to do some of the activities such as pilates and certain aerobics classes you have to be 16 to attend unless you have a permission slip signed. Its a good idea to start with a low impact class and then use the treadmill or elliptical to start out. Eating healthy is just as key as the exercise. You CANNOT be lean and eat an unbalanced junk food diet.
good luck and your body will change remember you are still young

  5. It won’t matter what exercises you do as long as you consistently do them. Aerobics is awesome for your heart and body if you don’t over do it. You should do a combination of a few things. I’d do the aerobics thing, and then pick something calm like tai chi to help you relax. Follow a balanced diet (no excessive fast food or soda), and be consisent. Consistent diet with consistent eating will equal a healthy you.

  6. Taller is genetic. Exercise won’t help. As far as shape, just pick an exercise that you like to do, and stick with it. All of the exercises you mentioned can be fun. Join a gym, and try the classes they have. Talk to a trainer about which exercises will tone various muscle groups. If you don’t want to join a gym, you can rent videos that show you how to do these things. If you have a bike, ride it. If you have access to a pool, lake, or ocean, swim in it. If you have a place to run, like a park, do that. I think you get the idea. I think the key to maintaining a healthy body is to enjoy the exercise.

  7. It all depends on what you define as good body shape.

First, let’s talk about taller. That’s genetics and nothing you do will help you get any taller than you’re predisposed to be. The best predictor for height (for a woman) is to take your father’s height and subtract five inches, then average your parent’s heights together. I’ll put an example at the end.

Now, let’s get to the better body shape. Anything you described will help you lose weight and look better. If you’d like to target specific areas of the body, the gym would be ideal. If you’d like to improve cardio you could add running, soccer or even tennis to your reportoire. The best thing to do is to vary your routine. You need to give your muscles a rest, so you shouldn’t run every day… BUT you can run one day and work your abs or upper body the next (if you’d like to workout on a daily basis). By strengthening your muscles you begin to give yourself a more defined body which creates a good body shape.

    Good luck!

Example of height predictor… I’m 5′4” and my husband is 5′10”. Let’s say we have a daughter. You take his height and subtract five inches, which makes it 5′5”. Then you take my height (5′4”) and average it with 5′5", making my daughter’s geneticly predicted height 5′ 4.5”. Obviously this isn’t perfect, but it is the best predictor based on shared genetics we have. I think the statistics state there is a 68% chance you will be within 2 inches of this height and 95% that you’ll be within 4 inches.
